Chris Carey, Auto Racing Alley's founder and President/CEO was coaxed into going to his first NASCAR Winston Cup Race at Pocono Raceway in June, 1999. After spending time with the pit crews and watching an exciting Pocono 500 Race finish where Jeremy Mayfield bumped the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. from behind on the final turn to win the race, Chris decided he would open an internet motorsport apparel store to serve the race fan with authentic licensed merchandise at low prices. Chris has since added many other sports merchandise categories and has developed his internet store into a major sports merchandise headquarters.
